Nôze prepare new album and world tour

Nôze are set to return with a new album, Dring, on April 4.
It’s the duo of Pailhès Ezechiel and Nicolas Sfintescu’s second outing on Get Physical after 2008′s Songs On The Rocks, and comes five years after their classic How To Dance. It’s hard to describe their music without making it sound awful – skippy, bass-heavy house and techno invested with a kind of knockabout cabaret spirit, with vocals that lurch from romantic sincerity to lascivious comedy, and diced with elements of skronky jazz and 60s French pop. Seriously, it does work, at least sometimes – check out ‘Kitchen’ or ‘Love Affair’ for evidence.
Entitled Dring, the new album is a more instrumental affair than its predecessors, more improvised, with a more pronounced jazz influence. To this end Nôze are aided and abetted by guest musicians Thibaut Frisoni (guitar), Alexandre Authelain (sax and clarinet), Matthias Mahler (trombone) and Emiliano Turi.
For all their studio chops, Ezechiel and Sfintescu are natural showmen, and it’s when performing live that they really shine. They’ll be touring extensively in support of the new album; see below for dates (many more still to be announced).
